Magda Community Artz, in conjunction with the Harp Society of Queensland, and facilitated by Queensland's foremost professional harpist, we are delighted to be presenting a programme of scintillating harp music from around the world!
The afternoon will encompass the wonderful diversity of music that has been written for this most exquisite of instruments: classical, folk and contemporary.
Performers include: Ms Tijana Kozarcic - all the way from Serbia! and Jaclyn Miles, Janita Billingham and Lily Yang.
Tijana will play some solo works and also duets with guest flautist, Lily Yang - including the wonderful South American, "Histoire du Tango". It's myriad movements range from the light-hearted to the melancholy and dramatic, making it a very impressive and engaging experience that'll wring both smiles and worry out of you.
Of course, no harp concert would be complete without old Johan himself!
Duets will be played by Janita Billingham and Jaclyn Miles - both recently graduating from the Qld Conservatorium, and now teaching the next generation of harpists.

Tijana has clocked up an impressive CV, prior to her Brisbane sojourn. Visiting Sydney in 2014, Tijana performed at the 12th World Harp Congress. In May of 2015 Tijana performed as a soloist with the “Boris Pascan” Youth Philharmonic at the opening of the 14th International Belgrade Harp Festival. She has taken classes from some of the worlds most prominent professors, like Anna Loro and Elisabeth Fountan Binoche (their masterclass in Italy); Jana Bouškova, Catrin
Finch, Şirin Pancaroğlu, Monika Stadler, and Remy van Kesteren.

Jaclyn Miles: is a highly accomplished and in-demand Brisbane based harpist. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Music degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Classical Harp, under the tutelage of Internationally acclaimed harpist, Sebastian Lipman – entering under the Lipman Harp Scholarship. Jaclyn is an active performer in Brisbane having performed in Redcliffe Musical Theatre’s Music of the Night, Beauty and the Beast; The Con Events concert showcasing Mozart’s Flute and Harp Concerto and most recently, Pine Rivers Musical Association’s (PRIMA) Premiere of The Little Mermaid. Jaclyn has performed with esteemed conductors such as Michael Morgen, Marko Letonja, Peter Morris, Alexander Briger and Nicholas Cleobury. Jaclyn is also an active member of the Harp Society of Queensland.
Janita Billingham: One of Queensland’s most esteemed harpists, Janita Billingham has distinguished herself as a soloist and chamber musician. Janita has performed frequently with a number of orchestras including the Qld Conservatorium Symphony, Qld Youth Orchestra, Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, Qld Philharmonia, Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra and Brisbane City Pops Orchestra. As a recitalist, she has appeared with prominent artists Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli, and has performed under renowned conductors including Guy Noble, Graham Abbott, Sean O’Loughlin, Johannes Fritzsch and Michael Morgen.
Her repertoire encompasses great classics and innovative new works and she plays for a
variety of audiences at a range of venues. Performing regularly at weddings, corporate
functions, private engagements and funerals, Janita also teaches harp & piano privately.
In 2015 Janita earned the Bachelor of Music in harp performance at the Qld Conservatorium of Music, under the instruction of internationally acclaimed harpist Sebastien Lipman. She is a current member of the Brisbane Chorale and Harp Society of Qld.
Lilly also has a large body of accomplishments to her name. She has played principal flute in some of Brisbane’s prominent youth orchestras such as the second Queensland Youth Orchestra and the Young Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. As a second year undergraduate student, she is currently preparing a number of exciting orchestral works as principal flute and piccolo in the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra .....
