An evening of new ethereal music by electronica musician HHAARRPP (LUKE JAANISTE), Indian Carnatic singer CHARULATHA MANI and composer-pianist LYNETTE LANCINI... along with special guests David Jenkin (harpsichord), Joseph Meyers (lute) and Margaret Caley (violin).

PROGRAM, First half: Charulatha Mani, an Indian singer and doctoral candidate at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, distils her research into Monteverdi's opera and Indian Carnatic music as an artistic exposition in MONTEVERDI RE-IMAGINED project -- with the help of special guests David Jenkin (harpsichord), Joseph Meyers (lute) and Margaret Caley (violin).
Second half: The trio of HHAARRPP, CHARULATHA MANI and LYNETTE LANCINI present their debut THROUGH THE CLOUDS collaboration -- conjuring eternal harmonies and divine music-scapes with voice, piano, harpsichord, recorder and surround-sound electronica.

THE ARTISTS
CHARULATHA MANI is currently pursuing her doctorate at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and is an acclaimed Carnatic and film singer, hailing from Chennai, India. Charu is working on the Monteverdi project with well-known research scholars including Prof. Guillaume Bernardi (York University, Toronto), Dr. Magnus Tessing Schneider (University of Stockholm), Opera artistic director Deda Cristina Colonna (Milan), and artistic researchers from the Norwegian Academy of Music, Oslo. She is grateful to her advisors Gregory Massingham and Dr. Catherine Grant (Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University) for their valuable guidance.
LYNETTE LANCINI is a creative musician, a body-based movement and ritual facilitator/healer (Wholebody Focusing practitioner, women’s circle facilitator, director of Wholebody Creative Change), and mother of four growing sons. In all she does, Lynette loves to create performances and rituals that inspire people to experience movement, music and love with playful ease, for both inner healing and outer connection. As a composer, Lynette is fascinated by whimsical harmonic textures and lyrical melodies. She is a represented artist with the Australian Music Centre, and her music has been recorded by Serrated Records, broadcast nationally and internationally, and performed and toured by The Muses, Topology and The Queensland Orchestra.
HHAARRPP is the electronica music project of artist LUKE JAANISTE, performing epic ambient music-scapes with eletronics, vocal loops and soulful guitar, in his unique surround-sound quadraphonic set up. HHAARRPP loves collaborating with a range of artists and forms, such as improvising musicians in HHAARRPP COLLECTIVE (including vocalist / guitarist / clarinetist Seamus Kirkpatrick, bassist James Scott, vocalist Hannaka Johnson, saxphonist Chel Bell and modular synth player Lindsay Crawford), dancers in the PLAYROOM PROJECT (Emma Wilson and Denise Comba) and ambient film in the INFINITE DREAMS project (with film maker JNXYZ / Jonathan Nalder).
