This will be Magda's second foray into orchestral music. [In September 2015 John Curro conducted 38 local musicians in a fundraiser for Nepal earthquake re-construction. This event was largely organised by Mike Hogan (who has been working tirelessly on behalf of the Nepalese people for a very long time), and Andrea Messenger.]
Alison Saunders, soprano, is a Brisbane based soloist, and currently studying privately, focusing on opera; lieder; and oratorio works. Alison: "It is a great honour to be singing these beautiful arias with the Amadeus Orchestra."
By day, Lachlan Snow is the QLD State Manager of Musica Viva Australia,
by night, Lachlan conducts two choirs and three instrumental ensembles across Brisbane as well as delivering pre-concert talks for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He is also the inaugural president of the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries Alumni Association and was selected as an inaugural participant in the Australian Council for the Arts Future Leaders Program.
Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland.
The Amadeus Orchestra began about six years ago, as a small group of musicians meeting in a friends house. Since that time we have expanded our members to include thirty four players and we are still growing.
The orchestra is comprised of a mixture of professional, semi-professional and talented amateurs under the baton of Conductor Lachlan Snow.
There are two main aims at the heart of Amadeus: the first is to provide you, the general public, with a variety of popular classics - the music you know and love. The second, is to give our talented musicians the opportunity to perform both solo works and also as members of the wider orchestra.
Together, with your support, we can keep the music alive!
Bardon Strings conducted by Anne Keenan
Bardon Strings has just turned one. Started by Anne Keenan (local teacher and violinist) for Adult beginner/intermediate violin, viola, cello and bass players. Bardon Strings gives musicians the opportunity to be both nourished and challenged by making music with others in an ensemble setting. Bardon Strings soon outgrew Anne’s living room and now have a home at Magdaz Community Artz. In May this year Bardon Strings hosted a fundraising concert at Magdas and raised over $5000 for Demazong Academy, which helps educate and provides a home for some very poor children in Sikkim India. Bardon Strings players are looking forward to the amazing opportunity of playing alongside the experienced Amadeus musicians.
Kind regards

CHANTEFIQUE, the Alliance Française choral, and Brisbane's only French-singing choir comprises approximately 30 people of all ages and varying abilities in speaking French. We are a friendly group, united by our love of music and our affection for French culture.
Regular performers at events such as French Film Festival, La Fete de la Musique, Bastille Day celebrations, the Beaujolais arrival and of course Christmas festivities. Their current repertoire embraces a diverse range of French classical ballads through to modern favourites - and we are very keen to welcome new members, especially male voices to provide musical balance to the choir.
