Magda's is delighted to join with BEMAC in presenting "Music With Menaka" - presenting her debut CD launch: "My Eyes Can See".

"I experience a great sense of fulfillment and freedom in being able to express the devotion of Indian music with other world music sounds. It enables and challenges me to use my voice in different ways and explore melody and harmony with freedom and creativity."

Menaka’s sound is a fusion of musical worlds. While she hails from a musical family deeply rooted in South Indian classical music, her exploration within realms of song writing has endowed her with a unique sound, which intersects traditional and contemporary, East and West.

To bring My Eyes Can See to life on stage, Menaka is accompanied by a top-class line up of musicians, including Tenzin Choegyal, Meg Burstow, Richard Grantham, Shayne Cook, Tsoof Baras, Evan Osborne, Rebecca Bornstein and Shen Flindell..... Few debut album launches feature such an amazing collaboration of diverse world musicians.

As with many of Magda's concerts, Menaka is forging her own musical path - out of the varied traditions she has grown up in. [Magda followers will remember Through the Clouds - with acclaimed Carnatic and film singer Charulatha Mani, HHAARRPP, and Lynette Mancini. [See Magda's sumptuous oeuvre here.]

In this concert Menaka is not only developing who she is - and "growing into her own voice". She, and the musicians performing with her, are the glorious voice of who WE are becoming - an energised, diverse, multi-cultural, maturing people of tolerance, energy and mindful acceptance.
